Hello

Hi, I’m Kivan Jasinge, the founder of House of Handles. Since 2017, I’ve dedicated my career to helping players sharpen their skills, develop their basketball IQ, and elevate their game to the next level. Basketball has always been more than just a sport to me—it’s a way to build character, discipline, and a strong sense of community.

For the past five years, I’ve been a Hills Hornets Representative Coach, working with U14s, U16s, U18s, and serving as an assistant coach for the Youth League. Coaching has given me the opportunity to work with athletes at all levels, helping them understand not just how to play, but how to think the game. My focus has always been on teaching the ‘why’ behind every move, decision, and play, ensuring that my players grow into smarter, more well-rounded athletes.

I believe in a student and community-focused approach to coaching. My goal is not just to develop individual players, but to improve NSW basketball as a whole by creating smarter, more skilled, and more competitive athletes. Whether I’m working with beginners or elite players, my commitment remains the same: to push them to be better, not just on the court, but in every aspect of their lives.

House of Handles is more than just a training program—it’s a movement built on hard work, dedication, and a love for the game. I’m excited to continue growing the game and helping players unlock their full potential.

My Story

Basketball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, but my coaching journey truly began in 2015-2016. When I first started coaching, I quickly noticed something that bothered me—the gap in skill development between the top and bottom players was too large. Some athletes had access to elite coaching and development opportunities, while others were left behind, struggling to catch up.

This imbalance wasn’t just affecting individual players—it was holding back NSW basketball as a whole. I saw talented athletes who had the passion and work ethic but lacked the right guidance to unlock their full potential. That’s when I decided to do something about it.

In 2017, I founded House of Handles with a clear mission: to close the skill gap and create an environment where all players could develop and succeed. Instead of focusing only on elite players, I wanted to build a program that prioritized fundamental skill development, basketball IQ, and long-term success for every athlete, regardless of their starting point.
